The identification and study of electromagnetic counterparts to gravitational wave events is is crucial for obtaining a complete astrophysical understanding of the sources. With this aim, we are working on various aspects of the search for optical counterparts to GW sources. We work on algorithms to optimise the scheduling for counterpart searches with ground-based telescopes. We are adopting these algorithms for use with a heterogeneous telescope network spread over multiple sites and with varying fields of view. Under the PIRE GROWTH project, we are setting up a fully robotic telescope in India, which will specialise in followup of LIGO triggers. Several students are involved in setting up remote interfaces for robotic telescopes for coordinating observations among them.
